BLOOMFIELD VILLAGE ASSOCIATION
APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL OF CONSTRUCTION AND/OR ARCHITECTURAL CHANGES
 
 

The information in this application will be used by the Bloomfield Village Association Village Manager and Board of Trustees to evaluate your proposed improvement. Please provide accurate information. Submission of inaccurate or incomplete information will delay the review process and may constitute grounds for denial of the proposed improvement.

The Bloomfield Village Association Board of Trustees meets on the third Tuesday of each month to review proposed architectural changes. Complete documentation must be submitted to the Village Manager three weeks prior to the third Tuesday of the meeting month to allow for adequate review and preparation. Applications will be reviewed in the order complete documentation is received.

Submission document requirements:

 
  • Completed application
  • One architectural 1/4" - scale drawing including site plan with grading, all elevations, all floor plans, air conditioning condenser location
  • Fifteen 11" x 17" copies of above
  • For new house construction, a "streetscape" showing the proposed new house and the adjacent houses (two on each side) is required (may also be required of major additions).

  Notification: We recommend you inform your neighbors of your project.
As a part of the approval process we will notify your neighbors and solicit their views.
For new house construction, fourteen surrounding neighbors will be notified.
For additions, eight surrounding neighbors will be notified.

 
16.
  Upon approval, the Village Manager approval stamp and signature will be affixed to all pages
of the construction/permit set of drawings that you will then submit to the Bloomfield Township
Building Department to obtain your building permit. Three complete sets of these drawings are
required to be submitted for final approval and two sets will be returned to you.

 
17.
  Project approvals are valid for one year. If the original approval expires before you obtain a
building permit re-approval will be required by the Village Manager. Projects are required to be
completed with twelve months of start. Projects will be monitored by the Village Manager for
conformity to approved plans.
